Patient FAQs

This page answers the questions patients and families tend to have when first using Medixlinx.

What Medixlinx Is

Medixlinx is a care routing protocol. It checks your care request and connects you with the right provider — only when the fit is exact.

You describe what you need in plain language. Medixlinx evaluates that request and routes it to a provider whose actual intake conditions match. If the fit is not exact, your request is not routed.

The goal is not to keep requests moving for the sake of activity. It is to make sure that when a handoff happens, it belongs.

No.

Medixlinx is not built for browsing provider listings, comparing sponsored placements, or shopping through a marketplace. It is built to validate what you need and route only when the request matches a provider’s actual intake fit.

That means it behaves differently from directories, marketplaces, and lead-generation platforms.

When you are routed to a provider, you land on their page and submit your contact information. Medixlinx passes that directly to the provider's designated secure endpoint.

That endpoint may be a secure email address, a patient intake system, or a connected care platform the provider uses. The specifics depend on how that provider has configured their intake.

Medixlinx does not store your information, sell it, or use it for any purpose beyond completing the handoff. Once it is passed to the provider, your information is governed by that provider's own privacy practices.

If you were not routed to a provider, nothing was submitted, and nothing was sent.

How It Works

You describe what you need in plain language.

Medixlinx then evaluates that request against structured provider-fit logic. If the request matches a provider’s actual intake criteria, it may be routed into that provider’s intake process. If it does not match, it is not routed.

The system is designed to avoid sending requests where they do not belong.

After you describe what you need, Medixlinx checks whether the request aligns with a provider that fits it exactly.

If there is an exact fit, you are brought to a provider page where you can describe your need in more detail and leave your contact information. That information goes directly to the provider, not to Medixlinx.

If there is no exact fit, Medixlinx does not force a handoff somewhere else simply to keep the request moving.

The goal is correct routing, not movement for its own sake.

You can see a working example at the Demo Provider Page. It shows exactly what you'd encounter after being routed — where to describe your need in more detail, how to leave your contact information, and how that information moves to the provider.

It is not routed.

Medixlinx does not sell non-matches, recycle them into unrelated providers, or turn them into lead inventory. If the request does not meet the logic for an exact-fit route, the system does not create one.

That rule helps keep routing more accurate and reduces avoidable misdirection.

What Patients Should Know

Yes.

If you need care for an animal — a dog, cat, or other pet — you describe the need the same way you would for a person. Plain language. What the animal needs, what the situation is.

Medixlinx then checks that request against providers whose intake conditions fit it exactly. If the fit is there, you are routed to that provider's page, where you can share more details and leave your contact information. If the fit is not there, no routing happens.

The routing logic does not treat animal care as secondary. It applies the same standard: exact fit or no handoff.

No.

Medixlinx is not built around accounts, dashboards, or patient-side portal management. Its purpose is to let you describe what you need and have that request evaluated for routing without turning the experience into a platform you have to manage.

The focus is the request itself, not account creation.

No. You do not pay Medixlinx to use it.

Any costs related to care would come from the provider you ultimately see, just as they normally would through that provider’s own intake and care process. Medixlinx is not a patient billing layer.

It is a routing layer.

No.

Medixlinx is not a lead-generation platform, and it does not treat your request as lead inventory to be sold, recycled, or distributed for marketing purposes. If your request matches a provider exactly, it may be routed. If it does not, it is not monetized as a non-match.

That distinction is central to how Medixlinx works.

No.

Medixlinx is not an emergency service and should not be used for urgent or emergency care situations. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number, or go to the nearest emergency room or emergency veterinary provider, as appropriate.

Medixlinx is meant for non-emergency care-routing requests.
